The mortis family is a fictional family I have that rules hell, this is a brief post explaining their relationship to the world around them. Here are the most prevalent members of the mortis bloodline:
Mara:
Mara is the head of the mortis family and is over 200,000 years old, she has two siblings mammon and corvid and two children Willow and Oma. being the daughter of Satan, who didn’t want to give up the throne, she and her siblings hatched a plot to modernize hell, in hopes that she could convince her father to let her or at least corvid (who was the oldest) to take lead, Satan being Satan, ignored this causing Mara to lash out in frustration and accidentally kill her father (whoops), despite this her family never really cared for him even her mother. By demon law, those that overthrew the current king became new king and so Mara became king of hell instead of her sister
Corvid:
Corvid mortis, aka doctor corvid, is the oldest of the mortis siblings and also likely the most insane, despite not getting the throne, she opted for a different destiny in medicine, all mortises are well versed in the world of science, despite being magical beings. However being demons, the hospital she runs is not only borderline insane, but her employees are too.
Mammon (the guy on the horse):
mammon, despite originating from the pride ring, is the current leader of the greed ring. Mammon received this position due to the original leader of greed being killed, since there were no viable heirs or relatives, mammon offered to take the lead, and he did.
willow:
Willow is the baby of the family despite being 1280 years old and having a younger cousin, she is the main character of her series and the child of Mara and a mortal woman (not human) who sadly died when Willow was in her 50s, (which for a demon is very young), she lives in the mortal world in a very odd rv that somehow manages to be bigger on the inside. The reason being is that she wanted to visit her sister Oma, so she bought it from an illegal rv salesman and left for the planet earth, which is where her sister was staying at.
Oma:
Oma mortis is the product of a curse put on two badly behaved mortals who decided to mess with Mara. The curse being that their child would be an amalgamation of the mara and the two, when Oma was born she was quickly abandoned by her shitty parents, but quickly saved by Mara due to her somehow forming an attachment to her. Oma was always distant to the rest of the family, being less chaotic and violent than them, though she still had some insanity, she was a mortis after all, due to this she decided to leave hell for the mortal realm, which unlike hell was not a cesspool of chaos and bloodshed, Oma ended up on the planet earth, where she originated from and decided to live a quiet life as a landlord silently observing her tenants from afar. Oma took an interest in robotics and started to build her own creations and having them patented sometimes. Despite having a lot of money from the robots, her room is a mess of metal, wires, and spare parts.
Thats all of them, I realize that this explanation isn’t as short as I thought it would be but the mortis family is incredibly complex. Maybe I’ll share a little about the aliens of this world next.
